EA Sports today has declared that sales of NCAA Football 12 are up 17% for the first two weeks of release compared to last year. According to their estimates 700K copies have been sold – putting NCAA 11′s numbers at the same point at approximately 598K. NCAA 11 went on to sell 667K through the end of August. It will be important to wait on independently collected official NPD sales numbers for the first month before making any final declarations regarding NCAA 12′s success but it has at least exceeded initial expectations. EA Sports has released details on the launch day patch for NCAA Football 12. While day-one patches are generally utilized to clean up issues and meet compliance standards, this patch is delivering several notable improvements and fixes and even includes a new addition – the ability to edit rosters from within Dynasty mode.
Also announced is that the pay-for-feature that would allow progressing Online Dynasty from week to week from the website is being delayed. That will now be made available sometime in August. Earlier today we found out that one Entourage star was interested in bringing the life of former MMA star Kimbo Slice to the big screen. This week we find out Entourage creator Doug Ellin is behind a pilot drama series set to air on HBO that will be influenced by Mike Tyson’s early boxing career. Spike Lee will direct the series titled Da Brick. Tyson and his wife, Lakiha, will be among the executive producers.
Tyson made an appearance on Entourage last season. While on the set he mentioned to Ellin:
“‘Why don’t you do with my life what you did with Mark (Wahlberg’s) life” with “Entourage.”
The series will not be biographic in nature, but will chronicle the life of a young boxer coming up in modern Newark, New Jersey. John Ridley, who helped bring Spike Lee into the project, and Ellin have spent time recently with Tyson in hopes of gathering material to translate into show ideas. The man who shot to stardom via internet fighting movies, known as Kimbo Slice, could have his life story portrayed in a movie if one star of TV’s Entourage has his way. In a recent interview with The Wrap Kevin Connolly revealed that he would be interested in directing the film:
“I’m trying to get the Kimbo Slice story made. I have his life rights, we have a script that’s great. It’s out and about, and the powers that be are trying to put the money together.”
I’m not sure having Kimbo’s “life rights” is something that I would brag about, but hey, to each his own. Connolly is hoping the Rolling Stone dubbed “King of the Web Brawlers” will play himself in the feature film. Continue reading Kimbo Slice: From YouTube To The Movie Screen, Biopic In The Works
Today we are announcing our upcoming TSG Madden 12 OF Owner lineup. Missing from this lineup you will see regulars such as So Bold oS, Mistborn, Deathpool & many more. While these guys didn’t make the cut for the main league at the start of the season, these guys will have an opportunity to fight their way into the league by playing hard and dominating our D-league. The D-league is where we will be pulling players to play in the main prize league, whenever a main league member leaves for whatever reason (for example: Julius Jackson is leaving after S1 or S2, the best player from the D-League would move up to take his spot). While there are ways to move up to the main prize franchise, you can also lose your spot in the franchise in numerous ways, causing your demotion to the D-league and someones promotion. More on that in upcoming blogs and podcasts, that was just a taste to get you thinking of where we are headed. Continue reading TSG Madden 12 OF: Owners Announcement

Welcome to the 1st Annual TSG Awards: Madden Edition Nomination Ceremony, now that’s a mouthful, especially with these tusks. Tomorrow night we will crown the winners of the first ever awards for our Madden Franchise, this year there are only 4 awards, hopefully we will expand this as seasons, leagues & years go on. Feel free below to comment on who you think should have been nominated, if you were snubbed or have suggestions for future categories. Since we ended so abruptly due to time constraints, the main prize the “PEYTON MANNING: FRANCHISE MVP AWARD” isn’t as lucrative as it will be in the future. Other than winning Super Bowl’s this will be the award to strive for in the future & will carry more weight going into future leagues & franchises along with a bigger prize attached to it. Currently each award winner will receive 1600 Microsoft Points. Below are the nominees for each award and a few things about that nominee and how they qualify for the award, once again feel free to comment below. Without further ado: Continue reading And The Nominees Are…….

It is a self evident truth that one cannot hype themselves up for a game sufficiently without knowing the new features it will bring to the table. Battlefield 3 is the sequel we’ve all been waiting for, and it is certainly worth getting excited over. We have seen it in action and for those who haven’t been following it, (and why not?) here’s a brief run-down of the ten reasons why you should start getting yourself psyched up for Battlefield 3.
An animated affair
Have you seen the gameplay footage for Battlefield 3 yet? It really speaks for itself. The new ANT animation system adopted for BF3 brings the game’s animations to life like never before. Forget the best animations in a Battlefield title, these look like the best animations in an FPS game yet. Not only do NPCs look realistic, but player actions like crawling (yeah that’s right, prone position makes a return in BF3) and interacting with the environment look as smooth as ever. The people who make Call of Duty keep promising that they won’t charge you extra to play their hit game against other people. They shoot down any fears that they’re going to turn CoD multiplayer into a pay-per-month subscription service, a la World of Warcraft or HBO.
But starting this fall, series publisher Activision will offer a service you can pay for each month: the premium grade version of something called Call of Duty: Elite (don’t panic… there’s a free version coming too).
Starting as a beta this summer and then launching on November 8, 2011—the same day as the next Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3—Call of Duty: Elite will be a PC and mobile service that lets players track their stats, compete for real and virtual prizes, and form both social and gaming groups with players from across multiple CoD games.
Elite will be available in two tiers of service, one for paying and one for non-paying Call of Duty multiplayer fanatics. While all of the perks of membership are yet to be announced, that paying group may never have to pay for a Call of Duty map pack separately again. Continue reading What Is Call Of Duty Elite? Will You Pay To Play?
