In a server-side update for Madden NFL 15 released earlier this month EA Sports claimed to have fixed a desync issue in head-to-head games within the mode. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and the rate of desyncs only increased to the point that there was no reason even to continue playing in leagues until it was actually addressed.
Yesterday the company pushed out another server-side update that has locked to the “Camera Toggle” option to ON. So now it’s set to OFF in the settings it will be off against the CPU but not in any H2H games. Supposedly this will solve the majority of the desyncs that were taking place. While this may reduce the number of desyncs, and hopefully dramatically so, it probably won’t eliminate them completely. There have been desyncs in the past even when both players had the camera toggle turned on.
In early testing a handful of games have been completed without incident. That’s far too small a sample size to say anything definitively but it’s at least a good sign that it may be worth giving things another chance.
One complaint this has now caused relates to the d-pad being used for pre-snap adjustments. With camera toggle forced on users who prefer to have it off and utilize the “Strategy Pad” for those functions are no longer able to do so. No indication has been given whether a patch will fix the desyncs and allow people to have the toggle turned off if they so choose or if this has been deemed to be the long-term solution.
When it was discovered just how much was missing from the Xbox One and PS4 version of NHL 15 EA Sports attempted to soften the blowback by laying out a plan to add in some features in the months ahead. The first of those features have made it in through a patch today.
Play an offline bracket tournament with up to 16 teams. Use the teams from the NHL or create your own tournament tree by selecting teams from up to 12 different leagues. Play or simulate each game and track player and team stats throughout the tournament. Continue reading Patch for NHL 15 Delivers Promised First Wave of Content

The two Major League Soccer expansion teams that will debut next March will appear first in FIFA 15. Both Orlando City SC and New York City FC are going to be added in a November content update well in advance of the new season.
EA Sports has once before patched in an expansion team. The Vancouver Whitecaps were added in March 2011 to FIFA 11. Interestingly the Portland Timbers, who were also new to the league that season, did not get the same treatment as they weren’t introduced until FIFA 12. You may remember a recent declaration from EA Sports that they had fixed a desync issue in Madden NFL 15’s Online Connected Franchise head-to-head games. Unfortunately that hasn’t turned out to be true at all. They’re still widespread and severely damaging the enjoyment and long-term potential of online leagues.
Suggestions on how to avoid a desync have ranged from making sure the two users have the same visual settings (tackle cone, kicking arc, ect) to locking into a single camera angle. Ultimately there doesn’t seem to be a common thread causing it. Maybe it happens more when the settings aren’t the same between both sides, but desnycs are happening when they are a match and sometimes don’t occur when they aren’t. I’ve played games through to completion with camera toggle on and switching back and forth between the various angles throughout, yet last night with all settings the same experienced a desync with under two minutes remaining. Today we’re excited to share some of our first gameplay details for NBA LIVE 15 and give you an idea of what you’ll be seeing when the game launches this October. Going into this year, we knew we had a lot of work to do in gameplay. We’ve been doing major upgrades across all systems, including the AI, to create a great flowing NBA simulation. We’ve been building a game from the ground up with a focus on a control scheme that is accessible but also has layers of depth for advanced players. At the same time, we’re ensuring that you feel in control at all times with extremely responsive movement and actions throughout every aspect of the game. That responsiveness that feels good needs to be supported and driven by amazing animation that looks good.
