There is only one person who deserves to be inducted into the TSG Hall Of Fame in 2016 and this man will tell everyone of his greatness. Molded in the likes of Terrell Owens or Deon Sanders, this man will tell you this “I love me some me” and not think twice about it. He has been a dominate force in the Madden Community since 2009, he racked up 2 Monkey Bowl 2k10 (Madden 10) titles with the Chicago Bears, since then has gone on to win 4 TSG Madden Super Bowl Titles with his Cincinnati Bengals, along with numerous other league titles (but they don’t count here).
He has also been a force in the NBA 2k Leagues with his now adopted team the Golden State Warriors (before they were even good). Also along with his accolades, he is a driving force in the community, helps gets games in & tells you how he will dominate you when he plays you. Now he is an elder statesman in the TSG Community, even rising to the ranks of a Junior Commissioner, helping to keep the Madden League moving and giving input on changes to help us grow. I consider him a rival, a standard bearer but above all else a friend. Without further ado, lets welcome to the TSG Hall of Fame, 2016 Inductee, the big dawg, Cincy life!
Cincy Life: “Oh yeah I’m the best player in TSG. I would love to plead my case, I did a lot with less but through focus and determination I showed who I am! Thanks to the Commish Jesmonkey69, Co-Commish’s Tonic and Jersey. Special thanks to the victims, all of yall, thanks and love.”
Rivalry, the very definition of the word tells you everything you need to know: the condition of being a rival or rivals; competition; antagonism. Throughout the last 7 years that TSG be has been around, we have had several top leagues over nearly every sport, people have come and gone, one thing remained the same, COMPETITION. There have been countless squabbles & complaints, great games & bad games, formation of groups & fighting amongst them, one common theme, ANTAGONISM. All of this boils down to the one thing that makes TSG great, RIVALRIES and the ability to unable to swallow a loss to your most “hated” foe.
In this series we are going to cover some of the best rivalries in TSG, whether new or old or by an entire group. At the end of this series we will give the people an opportunity to vote, to anoint who they feel the “best” rivalry is. Here are the 1st two rivalries, let the DEBATE begin. For as long as I’ve been covering sports video games the neglect of special teams in the Madden series has been readily apparent. Such a huge part of the NFL goes without much of anything being done to represent the aspect of the game properly. Tinkering with kick meters has been about the only thing that has changed over the years.
So on Saturday when Kam Chancellor stunned everyone by perfectly timing and jumping over the offensive line on back-to-back field goal attempts naturally many wondered would something like that ever make it to Madden? If it is being attempted in NFL games why wouldn’t it be possible in the video game? Of course within minutes the idea was dismissed with a wave of the hand by one of the developers. In a server-side update for Madden NFL 15 released earlier this month EA Sports claimed to have fixed a desync issue in head-to-head games within the mode. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and the rate of desyncs only increased to the point that there was no reason even to continue playing in leagues until it was actually addressed.
Yesterday the company pushed out another server-side update that has locked to the “Camera Toggle” option to ON. So now it’s set to OFF in the settings it will be off against the CPU but not in any H2H games. Supposedly this will solve the majority of the desyncs that were taking place. While this may reduce the number of desyncs, and hopefully dramatically so, it probably won’t eliminate them completely. There have been desyncs in the past even when both players had the camera toggle turned on.
In early testing a handful of games have been completed without incident. That’s far too small a sample size to say anything definitively but it’s at least a good sign that it may be worth giving things another chance.
One complaint this has now caused relates to the d-pad being used for pre-snap adjustments. With camera toggle forced on users who prefer to have it off and utilize the “Strategy Pad” for those functions are no longer able to do so. No indication has been given whether a patch will fix the desyncs and allow people to have the toggle turned off if they so choose or if this has been deemed to be the long-term solution.

You may remember a recent declaration from EA Sports that they had fixed a desync issue in Madden NFL 15’s Online Connected Franchise head-to-head games. Unfortunately that hasn’t turned out to be true at all. They’re still widespread and severely damaging the enjoyment and long-term potential of online leagues.
Suggestions on how to avoid a desync have ranged from making sure the two users have the same visual settings (tackle cone, kicking arc, ect) to locking into a single camera angle. Ultimately there doesn’t seem to be a common thread causing it. Maybe it happens more when the settings aren’t the same between both sides, but desnycs are happening when they are a match and sometimes don’t occur when they aren’t. I’ve played games through to completion with camera toggle on and switching back and forth between the various angles throughout, yet last night with all settings the same experienced a desync with under two minutes remaining.
